There you are cruising the Internet, when suddenly something catches your eye. You say, "That looks a lot like my house. Wait! That IS my house!" Why is MY house on Franklin Homes Realty LLC's website?
First of all, we want you to know that Franklin Homes Realty LLC is not breaking any laws. We take our home photos from public streets, and not standing on your grass! No trespassing involved. Consider us a mini-version of Google Street View, we're out and about to publicize our area communities.
Second, please consider it a compliment! We LIKE your house or we wouldn't have taken a picture of it! Typically we'll drive through a community and take pictures of 10 - 15 homes. From those, only 1 - 2 will make the cut to our neighborhood page. If we didn't think your home had nice curb appeal, we wouldn't have put your home's picture on our website.
There's a few things we're cautious about to protect your privacy:
- We don't include house numbers and street names, so all anyone knows is that you live in Westhaven, or Sullivan Farms, or Forrest Crossing, or a similar neighborhood.
- We don't take a picture of your car either.
- We don't take pictures of people with the homes, especially kids.
- We don't put pictures of any distinguishing signs like "Jane Smith is Graduating from Franklin High".
Beyond that, we do consider some other qualifiers for taking a home's picture for our website:
- The garage door needs to be closed.
- No trashcans in the way.
- Good curb appeal.
- Green grass and freshly mown lawn.
- Representative of other homes in the community.
- If your home is already for sale with another agent's sign in the yard, we won't include you in our marketing for your neighborhood. That's your agent's job, not ours.
We know people love pictures (ever heard of Pinterest). Home buyers LOVE knowing what a neighborhood looks like, and photos of your neighborhood (and your home) are a fantastic way for them to develop a short list of where they want to live.
